Aeropress Inverted Method

Aeropress Inverted Method

  1. Coffee and Water Ratio:
    • Measure 17 grams of your favorite coffee beans.
    • Prepare 240 grams of hot water.
  2. Setup:
    • Set up the Aeropress in the inverted position with the plunger on the bottom and the filter cap facing up.
  3. Grinding:
    • Grind the coffee beans to a fine drip coarseness.
  4. Filter Preparation:
    • Place a paper filter inside the Aeropress cap.
    • Rinse the filter with hot water to eliminate any potential papery flavor.
  5. Loading the Chamber:
    • Load the Aeropress chamber with the finely ground coffee.
    • Give the Aeropress a gentle shake to create a level surface of coffee grounds.
  6. Brewing Process:
    • Pour roughly half of the hot water (120 grams) into the Aeropress.
    • Gently stir to ensure all the coffee grounds are saturated.
    • Add the remaining water (120 grams).
  7. Extraction Time:
    • Allow the coffee grounds to extract for about a minute.
  8. Assembling:
    • Twist the cap with the filter onto the Aeropress chamber.
  9. Flipping and Pressing:
    • Flip the Aeropress over onto your favorite coffee mug.
    • Apply steady, slow pressure to the plunger until you hear a hissing sound.
  10. Enjoy:
    • Remove the Aeropress, and your freshly brewed coffee is ready to enjoy!
