- Measure 50 grams of your favorite coffee beans.
- Prepare 700 grams of hot water.
- Grinding:
- Grind the coffee beans to a medium-coarse grind.
- Filter Setup:
- Open your Chemex filter into a cone shape, ensuring one side has three layers.
- Place the filter onto the top of the Chemex brewer, with the thicker portion covering the pouring spout.
- Filter Rinse:
- Rinse the filter with hot water to remove any potential papery flavor.
- Discard the rinse water.
- Adding Coffee:
- Place the ground coffee in the middle of the filter.
- Blooming:
- Pour hot water over the grounds until they're fully saturated (about 100-120 grams).
- Wait for about 30 seconds to allow the coffee to bloom.
- Continued Pouring:
- Continue pouring the rest of the water in a gentle, circular motion, keeping it well below the top of the Chemex.
- Filter Removal:
- Once all the water has passed through the grounds, remove the filter and discard it.
- Pour and Enjoy:
- Pour your freshly brewed coffee into your favorite mug and savor the flavors.
