Pour Over

Pour Over

  1. Coffee and Water Ratio:
    • Measure 10 grams of your preferred coffee beans.
    • Prepare 6 ounces (177 grams) of hot water.
  2. Grinding:
    • Grind the coffee beans to a medium-coarse grind.
  3. Filter Preparation:
    • Fold the edge of your filter and place it into the pour-over dripper (such as a Hario, Bodum, etc).
  4. Filter Rinse:
    • Rinse the filter with hot water to remove any potential papery flavor.
  5. Adding Coffee:
    • Place the ground coffee in the center of the filter.
    • Give the dripper a shake to create a level surface of coffee grounds.
  6. Setup:
    • Place the pour-over dripper over your favorite coffee mug.
  7. Pouring Water:
    • Pour hot water over the coffee grounds in a circular motion until they're fully saturated. Be cautious to avoid the edges of the dripper.
  8. Blooming:
    • Allow the coffee to bloom for about 30 seconds.
  9. Continued Pouring:
    • Continue pouring hot water in a circular motion until the desired amount of coffee has been brewed.
  10. Finishing:
    • Remove the pour-over dripper from the mug.
    • Discard the used filter.
  11. Enjoy:
    • Pour the freshly brewed coffee into your favorite mug and savor the delightful flavors.
